Hotel Summit 2013
On Monday 13th May, Tom and I attended the Hotel Summit run by Forum Events at the Radisson Blu in Stansted. Having attended and extremely enjoyed Independent Hotel 12, we were keen to try out another event.
The summit has a slightly different concept compared to a normal trade event. You have scheduled meetings arranged with key decision makers, great for us and other like minded suppliers.
We ended up meeting around 23 companies in 30 minute slots each throughout the day, yes it was definitely knackering but we ended up meeting some great people.
Ranging from new hotel builds to historic properties like Burgh Island, to hotel purchasers to well-established groups like the Maybourne group.
A Great Venue
I have to say the venue was great, although Stansted is a nightmare to get to from the south west. Lunch was fab and we were provided with endless supplies of coffee, tea, cake, cookies and even the occasional non-alcoholic mojito (this definitely helped the 4am start).
So all in all, the event was excellent and the forum events team were too. We were disappointed we couldn’t stay for the drinks or gala dinner that followed, but there is always next year!
